A regional practice, not a city practice visiting

Being based in the Central West means knowing the district, its heritage streetscapes, its climate extremes and its councils, and having working relationships with the builders, trades, suppliers and consultants who actually deliver the work. That knowledge shortens approvals and keeps budgets honest.

Residential, rural and heritage

Most projects begin as a new home for a significant site, though a growing number are substantial renovations of heritage properties. Alongside those sit rural residences, interiors, master planning and selected commercial and public work. Our completed projects show the range.

Where we work

The studio serves Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo, Molong, Millthorpe, Blayney, Canowindra and the rural districts between them, with projects further afield across greater New South Wales and the east coast of Australia. Start with the town pages for Orange, Bathurst or Dubbo.

Recognised work across the region

The practice’s work has been recognised with a State Architecture Award and two NSW AIA Country Awards, including for Montoro Wines, alongside further heritage and residential honours. Our full scope of services runs from feasibility to contract administration — get in touch to talk through your project.

One studio, a wide catchment

Working across a region this size, rather than a single town, means turning down the convenience of a walk-in client base in exchange for a genuinely varied body of work: heritage cottages in Bathurst, rural properties near Cowra, a cultural centre in Forbes. That range keeps the practice sharper than serving one market alone, because a solution developed for a heritage streetscape in one town often informs a better answer for a rural site somewhere else entirely. It also means the studio has already dealt with most of the councils, certifiers and site conditions a new client anywhere in the Central West is likely to bring. The trade-off is honest: this isn’t a firm chasing scale by opening branch offices across the region. It’s two architects, one studio in Orange, and a catchment wide enough to keep the work varied without spreading the people doing it too thin.

Twelve years of local knowledge, not a franchise model

Every project in the Central West is handled by the same two architects, using the same knowledge of local councils and conditions built up over twelve years. There’s no junior staff learning the region on a client’s project, the experience is already there before the first meeting.
