David and Sally split the practice’s residential work between them and stay on each project personally, from the first sketch through documentation, tender and site visits during construction. How much does it cost to engage an architect?
Fees depend on the scope and complexity of the project rather than a fixed percentage quoted upfront. We discuss fees openly at the first meeting, once we understand the site and the brief.
Should I talk to an architect before buying land?
Ideally yes. A short feasibility study tells you what a site will and will not allow before you commit, which is far cheaper than finding out afterwards.
Do you design interiors as well as the building?
Yes. Interior design, joinery detailing and furniture selection are handled in-house so the house is resolved as one project.
