Source Architects is an architecture and interior design studio, and the two are not separate departments. Spatial planning, joinery, finishes, lighting, tapware, colour and furniture selection are all handled in-house from the studio at 146 Lords Place, Orange, for clients across New South Wales. Interiors can be taken on as their own project, or resolved as part of a new home or renovation.
Interiors begin with the plan
Most rooms that feel wrong are not a decorating problem. They are the wrong shape, lit from the wrong side, or entered from the wrong point. Because we work as architects first, the fix usually starts with the plan and the openings, not the finishes schedule.
Joinery does the heavy lifting
Bespoke joinery is where a house stops feeling generic. Designing it properly, and detailing it for the cabinetmaker who will build it, is what makes the difference between storage and something that belongs to the room. Our projects show it throughout.
One team, one result
When the architecture and the interiors are led by the same people, there is no handover, no contradiction and no gap between the shell and what goes in it. Our scope of services covers both through to installation.

Materials chosen once, not twice
When interiors are designed separately from the architecture, materials often get selected twice: once loosely, to get a permit through, and again properly, once an interior designer is engaged later to make the finishes work. Folding interior design into the same process removes that second pass. Joinery, flooring, tapware and cabinetry are chosen alongside the architectural drawings, not after them, so what’s approved is close to what actually gets built and specified.
A practical service, not a moodboard
The interior design service covers the parts of a project that actually get built and paid for: joinery layouts, kitchen and bathroom detailing, lighting positions, and material and colour selection. It isn’t a styling add-on delivered as a set of inspiration images. Clients who want the practice to go further, into furniture and final styling, can, but the core service is aimed at getting the built fabric of the interior right first.
